Ask Lola – Help! I’m In State because I don’t look like Kate (Moss)!

Hello wedding cadets!

It’s time for another installment from my agony aunt files, this time from Alice – who has told me all about her bridal bodied woes leading up to her big day….(artfully acted out by Emma!)…

Oh Dear Alice. I think you need to look at yourself and realise your are fabulous enough as it is – you don’t need to make yourself so miserable!

I understand all you girls want to look your best. Emma and Charlotte are the same. But what I recommend is that you do things properley! Now, are you eating healthily? That’s the main thing. The second thing is not to put too much pressure on yourself reading all of those celebrity websites. They have all sorts of trainers and chefs and goodness knows what at their disposal. There is nothing wrong with excerise, its very important to do at least 2-3 times a week and it keeps you healthy. But there are better and more fun ways to do it, and also sometimes with people who can help you get the results you want safely. How about seeing if your gym has a free personal trainer who can help you achieve realistic goals without you going overboard on gym sessions?

If you are lucky enough to afford it, how about investing in a trainer or fitness coach? They can help you shape up safely and have the knowledge to tell you how. Alternatively try and vary your training a bit. How about some yoga or swimming? Kickboxing or aerobics? Running in the park is free and makes you feel great.

The most important thing to remember is you will look beautiful no matter what. Don’t make yourself so miserable at such an exciting time!

Loving you long time

Lola

PS Please remember to consult a doctor before undergoing any rigourous training regimes or diets.  Also remember to warm up and down properley before you start!  I am not a fitness expert – ask a professional before you begin! Have fun!

Dear Lola – ‘Oh! We Can’t Take Anymore – She’s Such a Bore!’

Hello Sunday!

It’s time for another installment from our favourite agony aunt Lola.

Today, we look at Sarah’s story (with oscar winning performances from Emma, Matthew, Tracey and Adam)…

Oh Sarah. What a mess! But good news is at hand – I can help you!

I think my dear, that your friends are feeling very neglected indeed! Its a lovely thing to be getting married, and everyone wants to share in your good news – but you also need to remember that your friends have life’s too!

How about ringing them up and asking how they are?  Find out what they have been up to! Make the effort to involve them, they will probably be very excited and a lot more interested if you ask their opinions!

Everyone is thrilled to hear you news, but make sure you remember that there is more to life than weddings sometimes, and once its all over, you still want your friends to be there!

Good luck dear, they’ll all come back soon, you’ll see!

Loving you long time!

Ask Lola – Help! I’m in Despair, My Groom Doesn’t Care!

Monday, May 17th, 2010

Hello Monday!

Today we are bringing you the first of our wedding dilemma’s solved by our very own agony aunt Lola!

Today’s problem comes from Sophie and James (artfully acted out by Emma and Matthew)…

Read on!

Lola Says…

Oh dear Sophie, you do seem to be in a bit of a  state!  The good news is, I have seen this many times before! Getting married is a wonderful and exciting time, but it can also be very stressful for both of you.  Try talking to James. Have you thought that he is feeling a bit left out with all that is going on?  It can’t be easy for him having to listen to all this wedding talk – boys just sometimes don’t understand our attention to detail!  Why don’t you try and compromise? I suggest you have one night a week where you are allowed to talk to him about all the latest wedding details.  That way you can get his opinion but he doesn’t feel overwhelmed.  Make sure you are having some time together too.  Make Friday nights your date night and do something just the two of you!  It will give you a night off from planning and let the two of you have some quality time together.

Don’t forget, if you need any help with any wedding related questions, you can always ask Emma or Charlotte!  They are both getting married and understand all you are going through!

Hope I have been of some help Dear!

Loving you long time!
