Hey love,

The below link is the venue in Camden I was telling you about
www.whiteweddingclub.com – I forgot to say that we all have
to dress up as a trashy bride!

So I will be emulating… x

…………………………………………………………………………………………………
Ha ha ha ha!!! LOVE IT.
Slight issue mind… you don’t have bapps like that!! Or such style…
So good luck with emulating!!

Had a look at the venue.. like it alot- the dance floor sounds right
up our street (post 2 bottles of Bubbles)… Only thing is…
Do you want to share your venue with other hens??

I think you should hold the glory alone. Can you imagine how competitive we will be??!!
There will be feathers flying! Ha ha ha!

Let’s keep hunting… but I really need your list of invitees!!!
Need to save the date & get some idea of numbers which will help pick the venue.

My Hen Part 3 – Last Days of Decadence

Sunday, July 18th, 2010

Happy Sunday!

Today is time for the final installment of my hen party!

So after the afternoon tea, we all got on a bus and headed off to Last Days of Decadence which is an amazing club in Shoreditch in East London, the theme of which is the 1920s – 1950s.  We all had dinner first and then it was time for some serious dance – off action.

There was burlesque performances for the first part of the night, and then a swing band came on, playing so seriously cool tunes…..

….which got us all dancing….

…..and dancing……

….and dancing! What made it even more cool was that everyone in there was dressed in a vintage style – a big assortment of flappers, war time dance hall and 50’s rock n roll.

After the swing band finished a DJ came on who played everything from war time jive to Bugsy Malone. Seriously amazing!

You know I said everyone dressed up? I have no explanation as to what era the pig was from, but we thought he was pretty amusing all the same…!

I LOVED my hen – it was the best day ever. Thank you to all my friends and my family for being there and especially for Alex for creating it and also Cazza, Rachael and Helen for help organise it!

My Hen Part 2 – A Very English Afternoon Tea!

Thursday, July 15th, 2010

Hey Thursday!

So after my MAC makeover (as blogged about on Tuesday), I was taken on my next surprise instalment of the day!

There is a little cafe across the road from my house called Burning Bread which does really nice organic food and cider, and I was well chuffed to find that my hens had hired it out for the afternoon and put on a very lovely afternoon tea!

It looked amazing, with hand made decorations from Mary (Matt’s brother Jona’s girlfriend and artist) – she had made lots of handmade bunting and big massive paper flowers which looked fabulous!

When I arrived, everyone was already there – it was so lovely when I arrived and they all cheered! The nicest thing about it that everyone I know was there – from my family to my school friends, to uni friends and all my London friends. I was well chuffed!

The very kind owner of Burning bread had laid on some amazing Glastonbury Cider for us all to drink (which is very apt as I am a big Glasto fan) – which was delicious, and he had also made loads of cool little afternoon-tea style canapes.

I loved the bunting that Mary had made – Emma Bunting! She is going to make some Matthew bunting for the wedding too so we can re – use it! Isn’t it cool?

We also played a really nice game while we were there – they all gave me a load of balloons, and I had to pop each balloon to find a memory of me someone had put inside – and I had to guess who had put the memory in the balloon and then explain it!

There were some hilarious ones inside – that I had completely forgotten about – from loosing (and finding again) our tickets to Gatecrasher in Sheffield on millenium eve, to having Pythons in my sink in Thailand, to sleeping with a hammer on my window sill for about 5 years after I watched an episode of 999 when someone had to break a window to escape a house in a fire (I had completely forgotten about that one haha)!

I has such a lovely time – it was so thoughtful. Then a bus pulled up and we all hopped aboard to be taken to the final stage of the night – stay tuned to see where we went!

Hope you liked my piccies!

My Hen Night Part 1 – A Surprise MAC Makeover!

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Hello Tuesday!

So, as any of you who read our blog regularly will know, last weekend was my hen night!
And what a night it was! It was in fact, so darn fabulous that I am going to have to spit it up into different parts to write about it!

The whole day was a surprise, so I didn’t have a clue what was going on, only that the theme was vintage – and we could dress in any era from the 1920s – 1950s.

So, after staying at my MOH Alex’s house the night before and watching SATC DVDs with champagne, me, Alex and two of my other bridesmaids Cazza and Rachael had breakfast together and then got ready. Where upon I was told not to put any make up on.

Er…. come again? This is after all my big night? No make up – are you crazy?

I was assured it was all for a good reason, and I was taken off by Cazza for my first surprise of the day – a make over at MAC! Woooooh hoooo!

Now, when we walked into Morleys in Brixton all done up in our 1940s gear, the staff at MAC got very excited indeed – they all loved it and were all coming over giving advice on what look the make up artist should go for!

My make up artist was called Lesley and she was fabulous (as you can see from the pictures). She talked me through everything she was doing and showed me all the products. If you would like to book Lesley at MAC in Brixton call 0207 274 6246 or alternatively she is available on a free lance basis – if you would like a home visit (including bridal make up – drop us a line at info@electricwedding.co.uk and we will pass it on!

My make up session was a present from all my hens, but if you would like one, they are very reasonable and it is redeemable against product. I choose; MAC Lip Liner in Cherry, MAC false eyelashes (corner tips only) MAC Powder Blush in Desert Rose.

And ta-da! The finished result!

And I am wearing Dress – £35 Pearl Lowe for Peacocks, Hat £10  Traffic People, Pearls – my grandma’s

So my very fabulous make over was complete – I was suitabley 1940’s looking – and then Cazza and Alex took me to the next part of the day….

Hurrah – stay tuned to see what we did next!

Rootmaster Bustaurant – East London

Sunday, June 6th, 2010

I just wanted to say thank you to Charlotte today – we have had a fab time celebrating my birthday and I had a really fun weekend!   Charlotte made me the most amazing cupcake tower I have ever seen – unfortunately I didn’t take any pictures because I ate them before anyone had half a chance (I love cupcakes)… but I did have time to realise that Charlotte needs to do a post on her cupcakes because they are the bomb (she will be modest and say no but they are amazing – mine had glitter on and some said Emma)!

I also wanted to tell you all about a place we went last night called the Rootmaster.  The Rootmaster is a wicked Bustaurant! In other words a restaurant on a bus!  I am vegetarian and the food at rootmaster is all the most amazing vegan food (and if you are a meat eater it wouldn’t make a difference – all my mates loved it).

Anyway, its located just off Brick Lane in East London and I think it would be a fab place to go for a hen or stag party to start the night off. Its in a big courtyard with loads of bars around it so you can just sit outside and have drinks afterwards – and being in East London its near to loads of cool clubs you could go to afterwards to dance the night away.

Do have a look if you get the chance – we had a fab time!
