Our Wedding in Portugal

Monday, October 18th, 2010

To bring some love & sun into your morning… here are some stunning pictures from Leah & Mickael’s September wedding in Portugal.

They decided on a mixed culture wedding to please both families & honour a country they both love.

I personally, am LOVING the flowers!! The beading on her bouquet & the button holes.. so beautiful!

Leah says The priest was amazing and he did the whole ceremony in both languages where possible and when I said I wasn’t comfortable saying my vows in Portuguese he spent 4 days practicing his English so we could do it in English!

The Portuguese are quite particular about what happens at weddings and it’s more common for people to get married there and than in UK. “I think I made a few enemies along the way!”

And of course, the first dance…

Ahhhh, Dreamy!

Some Sunday Lovin’

Sunday, August 1st, 2010

I do love a Sunday! While I settle into my interim flat & wait a few weeks for the house to be ready I am getting a little bit of well deserved R&R.
I ache all over!!
Big Love to my fiance for doing such a sterling job on our move whilst I have been hard at it with my job.
He’s off to Glasgow again tomorrow for more training in his new job! So its just me & Lola (the cat) this week.

Here’s a huge Thanks to Helen, a la Team Bride for her fabulous Guest Post yesterday. You rock my love!

Last week I met up with Bride to Be Carly & we had a squeel over Emma’s amazing wedding! Carly is so excited now about her own as she has set the date. Corfu here we come!! In light of this I wanted to give you some more wedding pictures from another stunning event this year that bonded Iain & Louise Lennard.
Another wedding worth squeeling about!

Be inspired & enjoy!

Guest Post: My Dream Wedding

Saturday, July 31st, 2010

As we continue with our guest posts while Emma is away on honeymoon, we are joined today by Emma’s little sister Helen, who is telling us all about her dream wedding! Over you you Helen….

My Dream Wedding

Every little girl dreams of how her perfect wedding will be, from the stunning white dress and quaint country church, to the glitzy reception full of family and friends where the champagne corks are popping all night long. Well that’s what I had always dreamed my wedding would be like and it still was until about 6 months ago. What Changed!? A phone call from my big sister to say she was getting married in a cathedral and we only had 6 months to plan it!!!

Helen - my sister

In all fairness my sister has done a fantastic job but it has made me realise how wrong I was about my dream wedding. The formalities have gone and the following now details the more relaxed approach to my big day……

The quaint country church has turned into a white sandy beach, with crystal clear waters and hot sunshine for the perfect wedding pictures; the guest list has become a more personal affair which now only consists of close family and friends, and the wedding reception although still features the cork popping champagne, now focuses on cocktails at sunset and a mouth watering bbq.

Of course this will all take place in a huge villa, complete with pool, (like the ones you get in “The OC”) and will only be a stone’s throw away from where the ceremony will take place.

My dress will not be the typical wedding outfit and a flowing white Grecian style dress will take the place of the formal gown, complete with bridal bikini for the after party! My bridesmaids will be in coral sun dresses with beach chic hair and the guests can wear anything they please, my only request is that everyone wears bright colours and no shoes.

The reception will be nothing more than a pool party, a few speeches thrown in to please the parents and a BBQ to help see us through into the early hours! My perfect wedding and I even get a tan…

So what do I need to until this fabulous day, firstly I need to find the perfect location, secondly diet like crazy and thirdly and probably the most important is to get the man of my dreams to propose!!

EASY!!

Love

Helen xx

(PS from Emma; “This is all very fine by me Helen providing I am still a bridesmaid otherwise I am going to make myself one anyway, you promised me!”)

The Morning After, the Wedding Before

Sunday, May 30th, 2010

Happy Bank Holiday Sunday!
Such a nice feeling for those who get that frequently-longed-for, extra day. Smug grins!
For those of you who work bank holidays, well I hope you are being compensated & you can always be smug that the weather is pretty darn pants & you didn’t miss much!

So, yesterdays wedding… Absolutely Fabulous.
Louise wore her Suzanne Neville like a dream, the flower girls we cute as buttons, the Groom looked dashing & the pink bubbles flowed…

I’ll be bringing you the full picture perfect experience from their photographer soon followed by a no-punches-sparred reveal of the truth behind the day! When the Bride told me yesterday “you need to know about all of this. I must tell you everything” I mentally booked us in for tea & cake whilst prizing myself free of her intensifying grip on my hand.
It’s a date.

Until then, here’s a few snaps to help & inspire you for your own missions…

Absolutely gorgeous!

Time for some rest now so I can shake this cold.
Hope you enjoyed Louise & Iain’s wedding too!

Achooo!

Reporting from the Frontline!!

Saturday, May 29th, 2010

Happy Saturday! And best of all its a Bank Holiday weekend! Woop woop!!
But for me, and many of you, it doesn’t end there, as today, I am going to a WEDDING!!! Not just any wedding.
Louise Fenton’s wedding.
F-ing Marvellous.

I meet Miss Louise, as she is known in Dubai where we met.
We were both working out there & Louise was working with my sister doing fabulous things to manequins & window displays all over the UAE, not to mention winning “Best Dressed” at Dubai race’s Filleys & Fashion. Just a day in the life of Miss Louise.

A few nights out later & we were danicing on a bar in Beruit.

Five years later I am watching her walk down the aisle!

Why should this be of interest to anyone but myself?? Well, she’s wearing Suzanne Neville & has her very own twin flower girls! Cuuuutttte!
Now if there is anyone’s wedding, maybe bar my sister’s, that I would want to share with you for amazing tips, Miss Louise’s is the one. I know the inside scoop on what to expect & I know there will also be suprises!

So, today I will be Tweeting from the frontline!!
Up in the top right hand side of this home page, yep, up there… are 3 icons & it says “follow us”. Do it! All of them! Don’t miss out!

So excited I need to pee again!
