To My Maid Of Honour,

Friday, January 21st, 2011

REPLY TO; CHARLOTTE AKA MY MOH

Love them all! Love LOVE the Willoughby dress I think that’s my fave! And in budget!
FYI the budget is slightly negotiable… x

Yeah I want the dresses short as I want my dress to stand out. You are allowed
long as you’re maid of honor. I think this is the best way with everyone being different
shapes and sizes.

You can have long but not lace.
Lace is mine.

Lots of Love,

Why is Sarah Harding like Kate Middleton?

See any similarities???

Me thinks Kate is re-setting Royal trends!
Its not nice to compare her to Princess Diana, but boy have we missed a decent Royal female in our lives!

Good luck to you ladies!!

Its An Electric Holiday…

Saturday, October 23rd, 2010

Hello wedding cadets!

Charlotte and I have always said that we couldn’t do this blog without each other, so when we both find ourselves balancing a few too many things all at once, we have to admit we are only human and sometimes need to take a break! We love writing out blog and usually do so every day, but we have decided to take a couple of weeks out and have a well deserved holiday, before we come back and face the Christmas season head on!

We appreciate everyone who reads our blog, so please don’t give up – if you don’t see as many posts from us as you usually would, or you wonder if we have packed up and ran away to join the circus, fear not – we are just on our holidays!

See you all in a couple of weeks!

Love

Emma and Charlotte xx

A Load of Chocolatey Love For Chocolate Week!

Thursday, October 14th, 2010

Hello Thursday!

Now, there is a right old treat on the blog today! We had a lovely email from the people at Wahanda, who told us that it is in fact National Chocolate Week this week!

That’s right – seven spectacular days dedicated to the delicious decadence of all things sickly sweet, succulent and sugary – has started!

This annual indulgent candy carnival is set to be a celebration of the country’s best chocolate shops and chocolatiers with events
Nationwide, and Wahanda have told us about some some tasty treatment offers to celebrate the choco craziness…perfect for brides to be, mother of the bride/bridesmaid pressies or just to pamper yourself really!

CoCo2 Chocolate Facial (90 mins, £75.00) at Amala Spa – Hyatt Regency, Birmingham

Using only cocoa, stabilised oxygen, water and multi-vitamins, this potent and highly-charged Karin Herzog facial is brilliant for anti-ageing. While the antioxidants, vitamins and minerals hydrate and lift, the oxygen delivery provides the power to fully utilise all of the raw ingredients in the chocolate and further provide detoxification, clarity, elasticity and rejuvenation! Timelessly tasty!

Brazilian Chocolate Keratin BlowDry Treatment (2 hours, £200)at Eleven Hair – Mayfair

This conditioning treatment which lasts up to four months concentrates on a technique which penetrates the hair to repair damage and splitting. After being treated with keratin and a cocoa solution – to create a silky smooth finish – the hair is ‘ironed’ to seal in the keratin. Satisfyingly scrumptious!

Chocolate Manicure (1 hour, £55.00) at Savana Urban Spa – Notting Hill, London

This magnificent manicure is going down a storm with the sweet-toothed. Starting with a warm milk soak, a hot vanilla and brown sugar scrub follows, and finally a warm cocoa butter masque for super hydration …All served with a cup of hot chocolate! Delectably delicious!

Brazilian Chocolate-Hazelnut Wax (£45.00) at Strip - Soho, Chelsea, Notting Hill – London

Described by Sienna Miller as “The Best Waxing in London” and known to be Mrs Victoria Beckham’s “Favourite Boutique in London”, the Strip chain -which specialises in Brazilian waxes (minus the ouch factor) must be doing something right! The boudoir boutique’s each boast an exclusive chocolate room, decorated with chocolate wallpaper, and offer hot (and strip) chocolate-hazelnut wax to leave your skin smooth, shimmering and sweet-smelling! A calorie-free chocolate treat!

Chocolate Wrapper Body Wrap (55 mins, £35.00) at Champneys Spa – Chichester

This is a truly divine delicacy for chocoholics. The treatment starts with a full body exquisite exfoliation to prepare the skin for the soothingly silky and succulent warm chocolate wrap. Then enjoy the appetizing aroma of cocoa while relaxing with a sensuous scalp massage! Magnificently mouth-watering!

Wahanda has exclusive offers available for these spa’s and salons that you won’t find anywhere else in addition to Beauty and Spa Gift Vouchers, which are redeemable at over 500 destinations nationwide. What’s more, for every spa, salon, or gym review written, Wahanda will donate £1 to charity: water to continue supporting their great cause of bringing fresh water to communities.

Fascinating fact – cocoa – the key substance in chocolate – is bursting with natural health and goodness, and actually has an antioxidant concentration twice that of red wine, two-to-three times that of green tea, and four-to-five times that of black tea! Hurrah!

So there is no excuse….

chocolatey yours

Thank You Very Very Much (At Last)!!

Friday, October 8th, 2010

Hurray its Friday!

Since we have been back from our honeymoon, things have been a little hectic to say the least!

It has meant that one little task has been put back, and which I have finally managed to complete – Thank You cards!

Everyone was so lovely and so generous when we got married, we were overwhelmed by how many people were kind enough to get us a gift – we were so touched and we wanted to make sure that we thanked everyone.

We decided to get some photo cards done – because so many people got us gift towards our honeymoon we thought it would be a nice thing to show them what we got up to – so we used a shot from Costa Rica! (not the below one – if I showed you which one it would spoil it haha)!

So, last weekend I finally completed our thank you cards! I am very sorry to all our lovely family and friends that they have taken so long, but they are on their way finally!

Except…er…we forgot to get the envelopes when he ordered the cards, so we just have to go and get some first :-) – but they are nearly there!

Have a fab weekend

Jim (well Charlotte) Has FINALLY fixed it for me!

Wednesday, September 29th, 2010

Happy Wednesday!

So I am back from my week in Hong Kong and trying my best to fight the jet lag as I type! Interesting week – Level 3 Typhoons and crutches don’t go well together strangely enough..!

Anyway. I wanted to tell you more about my exciting news!

So, fairly soon, although the exact date has yet to be set, I will be walking down the aisle – all eyes on me in my dress as I glide down on a sea of happiness… No I am not getting married AGAIN. Its Charlotte’s turn! And I am fulfilling my life long dream to be a BRIDESMAID!

When I was five, I wrote to Jim’ll Fix it to ask him to fix it for me to be a BM. Several times. Actually every week. I was desperate. All my friends were BMs in pastel puffy dresses for their aunts or sisters, and I wasnt, because all my Aunt’s were married and my sister was, well she was 3!

I even asked my Dad if I could put an ad in the local paper! I honestly wanted to be one that badly. My favourite thing to look at was a book about Princess Diana’s wedding I had found, and there was a bit on her BMs. I was so envious of their huge 80’s frilly frocks. As far as I was concerned they were princesses!

So, imagine my joy when Charlotte asked me (at my wedding, which to be honest made my entire night!). I am taking my role very seriously indeed and cannot wait to get started!

So expect a LOT of BM related updates over the next few months, as I start the new untrod path of finally being a bridesmaid. Now, I wonder if Charlotte will make me a special Fix it medallion to wear down the aisle…

Love

Zank You Online Wedding Lists

Friday, September 3rd, 2010

Hello Friday!

I wanted to touch a little on online wedding services today… pretty much because I have experienced both ends of the spectre on this one, and I found out recently about a new service that looks pretty cool I wanted to tell you all about!

When it came to planning my wedding list, we spent AGES trying to find a list that didn’t make us book our honeymoon through them, or charge us half the money were were receiving in commission. It was really frustrating for us because we wanted guests to contribute towards experiences on our honeymoon, but a lot of sites were either wanting us to book the whole thing through them or make us give half our pressie’s back in handling fees!

We got an email the other day about a new wedding list called Zank You, which basically allows you to create a wedding list for whatever you want. I thought it was really worth a mention, as I thought the idea was really clever!

Zankyou’s free service allows the bride and groom to set up their own wedding list with the gifts of their choice, from stages of the honeymoon to furniture for a new home to a charity donation. Guests are notified of how to access the list online and buy the gifts of their choice. The full cash equivalent of those gifts is then transferred on request to your regular bank account.

So for example, if you wanted to you could include your whole honeymoon on the list, as well as experiences on the honeymoon right down to your sun tan lotion and bikini if you really wanted to! And add on a toaster for good measure!

You also get a  free wedding webpage. This space is useful for sharing updates and info for your wedding such as information on accommodation, posting photographs, news and music. The webpage therefore becomes a sort of social network for your wedding, providing a central point of communication for friends and family.

The only fee is a small handling charge of 2.25% – which compared to a lot of honeymoon gift lists is really small.  I went on some that were 10%!

If you have any other questions you can find out more information in their FAQ section.

Defo worth checking this one out I think – it’s the only site I have seen so far where you can ask for anything all in one list!
