Signed, sealed, delivered…
It’s exciting times here in Brixton this week as I have had another exciting development – my invites have gone out!
As Matt thoughtfully pointed out… ‘Wow. We really do have to get married now’.
Mmmmmm…
Anyway its another shout out for the personal touch, as I am proud to say that our invites were beautifully designed by Matt’s mum Jo. Jo is a fantastic artist and when she offered to design them for us, we couldnt refuse.
The invites were based on a lovely drawing she did of a vase of flowers, covered in mutli coloured tissue paper. The invite to the wedding was a zoomed in close up of the flowers, the card with our gift list details on (more of which later) was the same image slightly zoomed out, and finally we added an invite to a post wedding BBQ, which showed the original image. All tied together with a lovely red bow, done with my very own fair hands!
Here I am looking very serious at the very important task of writing them (notice I am sitting on my own here girls… where our dear fiance’s disappear to at points such as this is an interesting question..)!
Making your own invites is easier than you think. All you need is a large dose of creative flair and a bit of patience, and the printers can do the hard bit. If anyone else has done this I would love to hear from you!
Jo has been under such demand to do similar work that she is setting her up her own business designing her own range of cards and invites. As soon as its up and running we will add her to our Electric Directory so you can all get involved!
Until then, enjoy the pics!…
